NYAACF cast hit Hollywood Boulevard during LA showcase!
Photography: nigelparry.net, Jan 25, 2006

Halfway through the LA showcase of the New York Arab-American Comedy Festival, the cast headed for Hollywood Boulevard for a photo shoot. Landmarks we aimed for included Mann's Chinese Theater, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Hollywood sign, and anything that looked vaguely interesting along the way.

The cast around the star of the late TV actor Danny Thomas (1914-1991), on Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame. The son of Lebanese immigrants, Danny Thomas was known primarily as a TV actor and starred as a nightclub singer on the popular "Make Room For Daddy" (1953). He also served TV behind the cameras partnering with Sheldon Leonard and Aaron Spelling to create such shows as "The Dick Van Dyke Show", "The Andy Griffith Show" and "The Mod Squad". He was also dedicated to building the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, which he founded in 1962. (Photo: nigelparry.net)

Ryan Shrime and Jana Zenadeen reprise their roles from Jana's short comedic piece, Love in Las Vegas, which debuted at the 2005 NYAACF in New York. In the play, Ryan plays an "in-the-closet" homosexual Lebanese man and Jana plays an Arab-American stripper, who have just gotten married after knowing each other for two days. When the stripper reveals that she is pregnant with 50 Cents' baby, all hell breaks loose in the short, ironic, bittersweet and funny love story. (Photo: nigelparry.net)

Sam Younis and Leila Buck reprise their roles in 'A' Date, Lameece Issaq's short comedic play about an international Arab dating service, owned and run by the neurotic Miriam Shelebeh, whose single aim is to marry off her unwilling daughter Lamia, an aspiring musician and singer. A wild ride of misunderstandings, miscommunications and misplaced videos. (Photo: nigelparry.net)

Moments away from a lynching after walking everyone about 50 blocks to a point where we could kind of see the Hollywood sign on the hill behind the cast, the photographer gratefully snapped this photo, thus averting disaster. A few moments later, Jana Zenadeen noted that there was an awesome view of the sign just behind Mann's Chinese Theater, where we started off from. Needless to say, Jana was immediately made to sign a non-disclosure agreement until we were all safely back in New York. (Photo: nigelparry.net)
