Jordanian-American Amin Matalqa moved to the US when he was 13. His first feature film, Captain Abu Raed, won the Audience Award at Sundance in 2008 along with 27 other international awards. It became Jordan's first-ever entry to the Oscars. Amin has an MFA in Directing from the American Film Institute and is also known for his 2005 comedy short films Suffi Suffi and Liffi Liffi. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Claire and their dogs Cello and Oboe. Amin is working on his next feature film, Welcome To Nowhere, an American comedy with heart and balls.
