J.J. El-Far is a Jordanian-American freelance theater director, producer, and playwright and the founding Co-Artistic Director of Hybrid Theatre Works. Last year she directed Zuberman, selected as one of the Best of the Festival 2009. Her company, Hybrid Theatre Works has just finished The Generations Project, a series of workshops and performance about the immigration experience at The International Center, NYC with recent immigrants from all over the world. She earned her B.A. degrees in Theatre Arts and International Studies at Brandeis University, where she directed Betty Shamieh's The Black Eyed, and Jose Rivera's Marisol. She has assistant directed The Clean House by Sarah Ruhl at New Repertory Theatre in Watertown, MA. She has performed with Berkshire Theatre Festival's apprentice company and interned at The Jerash Festival of Arts and Culture in Amman, Jordan.
