Sam Younis

Sam Younis is thrilled to take part in the 3rd Annual NYAACF. He has just returned to New York after playing a lead role in the World Premiere of Baby Taj, which just completed a regional run at Theatreworks in Mountain View, CA.

Sam acted in his own playwriting debut, Browntown, which originated at the 1st Annual NYAACF. The following summer, the play ran at the NYC Fringe Festival, where it went on to win a 2004 Fringe NYC Award for "Overall Excellence in Playwriting."

In 2002, Sam performed on Broadway in Tale Of The Allergist's Wife. Other selected regional and NYC credits: Pulling The Lever at Wings Theatre (N.Y.I.T. Award: "Best Ensemble"), Richard III at LaMaMa (director: Andrei Serban), Oklahoma! (Gateway Playhouse, Salome (Two River Theatre), Sex In Other People's Houses (Lark Theatre), Island Of The Slaves (HERE Arts Center), and Merchant On Venice (Lark Theatre, Kirk Douglas Theatre) .

Film credits include The Narrow Gate (in production), Ways Of The Flesh(in production), and The New Americans (indie cable-pilot). Sam is a member of Nibras and Rising Circle.
